Welcome to the FIRE Arctic Satellite Page. This site was developed to provide near realtime NOAA-12 & 14 AVHRR satellite imagery, orbital predictions, and weather information to support the SHEBA , ARM , and FIRE Arctic Cloud Experiment in Fairbanks, Alaska during the period of May - August 1998. This work is being directed by Principal Investigator Patrick Minnis of the Atmospheric Sciences Division  at the NASA Langley Research Center  located in Hampton, Virginia.

ssec Satellite, surface and miscellaneous datasets are acquired from SSEC in Madison, Wisconsin. All imagery and maps are produced using McIDAS software system.
